Why we operate
  • •  We want to feed the hungry
  • •  We want to bless our local growers and volunteers
  • •  We want to share Christ’s love with everyone
“Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward.”
Mark 9:41

Gleaning is a biblical concept in which God instructed farmers to leave a portion of their crops for the poor to gather. Niagara Christian Gleaners seeks to demonstrate Christ’s love and grace by sharing the abundance of produce that we enjoy with those around the world who are in need.

Fundraising Dinners Postponed

Fundraising Dinners Postponed

In light of the seemingly daily developments relating to the covid-19 virus, Niagara Christian Gleaners has decided to postpone the planned fundraising dinners to the fall. The new dates are: Friday, 6 November 2020 and Saturday, 7 November 2020. We were humbled by the response to the dinners as both evenings booked up completely in a short time. The planning team is hoping to simply apply those reservations to the new dates accordingly. We are aware that the new dates may work for most but not necessarily for all. If you are one of those guests who cannot attend the fall dates and need to cancel - please connect with us via the email addresses provided. ncgfriday@gmail.com and ncgsaturday@gmail.com. We will follow-up with all guests as we get closer to the dates. Please note that our fundraising dinners play a role in raising a significant portion of our annual operating costs for the mission of Niagara Christian Gleaners. The goal for our dinners this year was set at $200,000 which is half of our operating budget for 2020. This unplanned delay may impact the necessary flow of funds as we go forward. As supporters we do ask that you consider this and help us out as you are able. We are trusting that God is ordaining this mission and His hand of provision is shown through the generosity of His people. We apologize for any inconvenience this significant change may cause. We felt this was a responsible, yet balanced approach to a health challenge that is affecting all of us in varying ways. As believers in our Heavenly Father we need to approach all of these things in the correct biblical context - placing our trust in Him who has all things in the grip of His hand. 2 Timothy 1:7 says “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind”. Thank-you for understanding and your continued love and support for Niagara Christian Gleaners. In His service; Pete Wierenga General Manager Niagara Christian Gleaners
